We have a squirrel (or 2 or 3) who regularly visit our garden – they obviously enjoy the bird food we buy. A couple of weeks ago one squirrel ran down the garden path to one of our feeding stations where 6 blackbirds were feeding. The squirrel chased all the blackbirds into the corkscrew hazel bush, then followed them in and rushed round and round chasing them out again. Having cleared the feeding station of blackbirds the squirrel then moved on to some hanging feeders round the corner. Was it having a bad day? or just needed to run off some energy? I will never know, but it gave 5 minutes of amused watching.
